The gastric balloon programme combines a clinically proven way to reduce hunger so that you eat less and lose weight without surgery. It is a short-term solution to kick start your weight loss and help you to learn the healthy habits to enable you to maintain that success after the treatment so that you lose weight quickly AND keep the pounds off over time. Patients will probably lose on average 15 - 25kg in the first 6 months, and with the continued commitment your weight loss should continue beyond 6 months.

Lap Sleeve

Sleeve gastrectomy or gastric sleeve surgery, as it is known, is a procedure that permanently removes part of the stomach, reducing it's size by about 70%. This is usually performed Laparoscopically (Keyhole) with a 2 - 3 day hospital admissions. During sleeve gastrectomy or gastric sleeve surgery the stomach is made smaller, the way that it functions remains unaltered, unlike with the gastric bypass, so side effects are reduced.

•    I got the lap sleeve gastrectomy in the September of 2016, after an emotional battle with my weight for over 18years. Throughout the 18years, I battled with the failure of different diets, low self-esteem, anxiety and excessive cravings. At the time of the procedure I weighed 121kg and was dealing with an under active thyroid function. All these and more propelled me to take the step of surgery for recovery. I called the surgeon, researched on the procedure, watched YouTube videos and made payments! I had a fair idea of what to expect post surgery, but I was not prepared for the influx of support, great vibes and lightness I would come to know post surgery.

Post surgery, my recovery was swift, I was up and walking small steps in the first 48hours. In two weeks my stitches were healed and in three months I had lost 16kg!!!! Post surgery, my success was largely due to the support I received from my dietician, surgeon and family! In times of struggle, they always provided a listening ear! My cravings pre and post surgery have drastically changed, I find myself not having cravings but appreciating more wholesome food items. I also eat sufficiently lower than I have ever eaten in my life!

I would strongly recommend this proceedure to everyone struggling with weight issues! Think about it, it is giving yourself a rebirth and a fresh healthy start! I am not saying losing weight will change all the problems in one's life, but I would rather face life's challenges from a healthy disposition.

•    Well, I was 172kg on the 21st October 2016 and today 17th January 2017, I am 135kg. What fantastic results I have experienced for someone who has always found it hard to lose more than 1kg.

Dr. Abuchi Okaro recommended to me in February 2016 to have the gastric bypass surgery. But in my mind at that time, I wondered, who would willingly go for an operation. I honestly don't regret ever doing this procedure. When you hear someone telling you something has changed his/her life, you are wondering what that person is talking about. My blood pressure has gone down, cholesterol also down, I am more active, I like myself more. Yes, I know its unbelievable but thumbs up to gastric bypass and Doctor A. Okaro.
